Dr. Matthew Rand is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who provides surgical care at Haratz Dental in Aventura, FL. He is available on Fridays for procedures including wisdom tooth removal, tooth extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, and other oral surgery needs.

Education & Training

Dr. Rand graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami, where he majored in Psychology and Chemistry. He went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. During dental school, he completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and National Cancer Institute Surgery Branch through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholars Program.

Dr. Rand continued his studies at the University of Michigan Medical School, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his training in General Surgery, Adult and Pediatric Anesthesia, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Michigan Hospital. He also completed a one-year Microvascular Training Program at the University of Michigan.

Awards & Publications

During his academic career, Dr. Rand received several awards for academic achievement, including the Robert E. O'Neil Prize in Oral Surgery and the American Academy of Oral Medicine Award. He has coauthored articles for publications such as the Journal of Dental Research.

Professional Affiliations & Community Service

Dr. Rand is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Miami Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Chalmers J. Lyons Academy. He regularly provides oral surgery for those without access to dental care through his volunteer work at the Community Health Center of West Palm Beach.
